Honor Guard

FAAA have had an honor guard since 2003, as a result of an invitation to attend the funeral of WO Ed Becker, a WW2 82nd Airborne Veteran who lived in the UK and was a friend of the Association.  At the request of his widow, the FAAA conducted a ceremonial Honor Guard, and led to  the association forming a dedicated Honor Guard to undertake ceremonial tasks at special events when requested.

While all members of FAAA are expected to become proficient in basic drill, taking part in the honor guard is voluntary.  Collective training is conducted at training weekends and events, the drills tailored as appropriate to the specific task at hand.

Class A uniform is normally worn, with turnout to a high standard to represent and honor the veterans and their fine units with respect and pride in what we do.

Any trooper is free to join the guard, subject to meeting these high standards and with an appropriate level of aptitude.

All drill undertaken comes from the US Infantry Drill Regulations Manual FM22-5, adapted to produce Ceremonial drill standards.
